Operahouse Show Poster  2006 21.59cm x 27.94cm ink on velum
At some point in 2006 Bill Jeffery asked me and my friend Renee to join him in showing work at a friend of his’ store. I think it was a clothing/vintage or craft/record/fanzine store or something. (They’re around.) He also asked our mutual friend’s band, Yellow Fever to play. They did a ingenious cover of “It Wasn’t Me” by Shaggy. The whole deal was a blast. Lots of shitty wine and I moved a lot of left over from college paper units, freeing me of burden and filling my coffers, both needed as I was about to move.

Secret Code No. 4, (2005)
Books are my most frequently occurring symbol. They may be used with slight contextual variations but the core is always knowledge/information-whether it be historical, scientific, procedural, instructional, mythological, anecdotal, psychic, philosophical, visual, etc.

This is Marc. He procured “We Are Not So Dissimilar (Canis Familiaris, O. Cuniculus),”2004, in 2005. It’s likely that I was in such a hurry to be unload this large canvas that I never made proper documentation of it prior to this photo taken at his home last year.

For some strange reason this is the only photo I have of this painting. I found the canvas outside of a rehearsal space in Los Angeles. I took it with me to Portland where I eventually painted yet another rabbit and book on it. When I moved back to Austin I had a show and sold it to this friendly lady. I didn’t paint that much in 2005 and this is absolutely the best piece from that fallow period. It also helped me pay for my move to Oakland. Thanks magick metal stoners for helping me out on this one.
